Usual pricing applies for this set (PhP 27.50 per minifig when bought as a set). As for solo pricing, it varies wildly. The norm of PhP 50 for solo minifigs are usually in place, but there are some stores who sell solos for around PhP 40 to PhP 80, depending on demand for a specific minifig. Don't pay any more than PhP 50 for a standalone. You'll find that many stores will gladly sell these for even less than PhP 50.
Included in the set are as follows:
- Yoda
- Captain Rex
- Commander Cody
- Admiral Ackbar
- Clone Trooper
- Sith Trooper
Only three minifigs in this set also appear in SY's set, so if you're into collecting, this could be a good thing (and it could also be a cue to start looking for solos of those other three unique minifigs).
So how do these minifigs stack up? Let's go take a look!
Yoda
Truth be told, this Yoda is worse than SY's Yoda. The eyes look all weird, and there are splotches of white paint on Yoda's right cheek area as well as the back of his right ear. This particular minifig looks to have been part of a less-than-ideal production run, hence the splotches.
Even without the paint botch, the head piece itself looks and feels to have been molded from a material that's different from the plastic used for the rest of the minifig. And to me it's even worse than SY's Yoda's head piece.
In fairness to Lele, though, they didn't skimp on giving this minifig (and as you'll see, the rest of this set's minifigs) painted-on details at the back, something SY didn't do for their Star Wars set. The paint job itself isn't perfect, but it's okay as it is.
Lele also included a bunch of accessories for Yoda to use - a blaster, a lightsaber, a long rifle, and a wrench. That set of accessories is slightly different from the set the box purports to include, so if you're a stickler for truth in advertising, prepare to be disappointed.
I have no idea why a wrench is included. Who knows, maybe Yoda does maintenance work on the side. It's the unglamorous side of being a Jedi.
Also, cards come with the set. If that thrills you, then I'm happy for you.
Captain Rex
This Captain Rex looks decidedly different from SY's Rex. I checked the Lego Wikia, and it doesn't look like this particular Rex is canon, Lego-wise. So let's just put it down as Lele's own interpretation of Captain Rex, as a sort of remix or something.
As for the quality, the paint details are okay. Again, having details on the back is a nice touch. The parts snap nicely, so it's all good. This minifig comes with three different blasters. The box art shows Rex wielding a lightsaber, though. And the promised accessories for Rex include a spear.
Clone Trooper
So here's the clone trooper. It looks pretty good, except that Lele decided to give me two left arms instead of one left and one right. Sweet. Looks like another quality control issue on their part. As mentioned before, retailers here would be happy to exchange your ill-packed item as long as you keep the minifig in its packaging. This means that you should do a basic check of the plastic packet holding the minifig before opening it. Some retailers would even allow you to check the contents even before purchasing the item. Many wouldn't, though.
I snapped on both left arms for this review for no good reason other than to emphasize the fact that I got two left arms for this minifig.
Left arms aside, the paint looks okay (again). It's passable and acceptable, and the detail is there, but there's something about the heavily-applied paint that detracts from the overall look. The helmet piece itself looks pretty good, though, so this minifig has that going for it.
Two blasters and a long rifle rounds out this minifig. I'm obviously ignoring the cards at this point, so apologies if you're looking for more info about those. You're not getting it here.
Oh look, according to the box, this clone trooper also wields a lightsaber.
Commander Cody
Again, I don't watch Clone Wars, so the only knowledge I have of Cody is that he tried killing Obi-Wan under Palpatine's Order 66 (this really didn't happen, because Episodes 1, 2, and 3 never happened - THEY NEVER HAPPENED, DAMMIT).
Like Captain Rex above, Commander Cody's design here isn't canon to what Lego has, and so it also falls as artist interpretation in my book.
Design-wise, I dunno. The helmet doesn't work for me. The torso and leg designs also do not work for me. This is just a curious design from head to toe.
In any case, the paint details are there, again employing the heavily-applied approach to laying down paint. Upon closer look, some details are misaligned (most notably the gap between the waist piece and the bottom of the torso detail).
Cody (or this guy who claims to be Cody) comes with four blasters, because he's bad-ass.
This particular figure is pretty uninspiring, to be honest.
Looks like Lele made it a habit to have everyone wield lightsabers in their box arts.
Admiral Ackbar
Cult favorite Ackbar makes an appearance in this set, and he doesn't look too shabby.
The torso paint details suffer from a couple of smudges, but nothing that's a total deal-breaker.
Look at that head piece, though. It looks very good to me. The molded details are there and the paint isn't perfect, but it also isn't shabby. Now it could be that I'm being partial to this minifig simply because it's unique (so far) and because it's Ackbar, but even without those, this minifig looks pretty good. See for yourself.
Like the others above, Ackbar is also shown waving a lightsaber in his box art. And he's actually given a lightsaber to use, along with a blaster, a rifle, and a wrench, similar to what Yoda got.
Sith Trooper
This guy, I really don't know where he came from. At the very least, this guy never showed up in the movies, so I'm led to believe that he came from the Clone Wars series. I checked Brickipedia, and this minifig is probably based on this particular minifig. In that regard, Lele's minifig fails on one major aspect - Lele's helmet is very barebones compared to the original.
Even without looking at the original, though, this minifig's helmet already looks remiss, like it's missing details. Looking at the Brickipedia only confirms that suspicion.
Otherwise, this minifig also shows the same characteristics others in the set did - a lot of paint details, but suffering from misalignment. Again, the misaligned paint doesn't bother me that much, though, only that it needs to be mentioned.
Inclusions in the set are a lightsaber, a blaster, and a rifle. The box art promised a cloak for the minifig, but alas. It's nothing to lose sleep over, though.
Final Verdict
For the collector who only collects bootlegs, I think this set merits a look. Having three unique characters (four if you count a re-imagined Rex) helps grow your collection.
Others may want to think it over before splurging, though. Unlike SY, this set doesn't include any main protagonist. And even if you're fine with that, there's also the quality issue. SY is better in that regard, though you'll miss the back details with SY.
It's a tough call, really, if you can only get one set. Unlike, say, choosing Decool's Super Heroes set over Lele's own, there are pros and cons between SY and Lele's Star Wars offerings. I leave that choice up to you.
